Clean energy supply

Hydropower is in ample supply in Rana, Norway. Steady rainfall, storms rolling in from the North Sea, and the melted snow that runs down from the Helgeland mountains nearby ensure that FREYR’s battery cell production will be powered by clean and renewable energy at a low cost.

Abundant supply of renewable power

More than 98% of the electricity produced in Norway is renewable, and FREYR has access to emissions-free energy year-round.

We have signed an agreement with regional utility Helgeland Kraft for the supply of renewable energy and we are planning a 600 MW wind park on Sjonfjellet (Sjon Mountain) in the adjacent municipality Nesna to power our facilities in Mo i Rana, Norway.
